The Pinarello X3 105 Di2 brings the character of Pinarello's high-performance road bikes into a refined endurance package designed around comfort, control and the simple enjoyment of riding.
For HYPT Bike Performance, the X3 stands out as a particularly versatile option for riders who want a premium carbon road bike that can comfortably handle everyday training, long-distance riding, sportive events and demanding road routes. It combines modern electronic shifting and performance-focused frame technology with an endurance position that is designed to remain comfortable well beyond the first few hours in the saddle.
The foundation of the X3 is a Torayca T700 carbon frame, chosen for its combination of stiffness, responsiveness and vibration absorption. The result is a bike that retains a lively feel when accelerating or climbing, while offering the compliance required when the road surface becomes less forgiving. Pinarello places the T700 construction on the X5 and X3 within the X Series range, providing a slightly more vibration-absorbing character than the higher-specification T900 frames used further up the range.
One of the defining features of the latest X Series is X Stays 2.0. The updated double-arm, four-point rear-stay arrangement is designed to spread road vibrations across four connection points, while the lower linkage helps control rebound. In practical terms, the aim is a rear triangle that feels smoother and more controlled rather than simply soft.
At the front, the X3 adopts Pinarello's latest elliptical steering tube with fully integrated cable routing. This is an important distinction: Pinarello has developed the shape primarily to increase torsional stiffness and front-end precision rather than to pursue aerodynamic optimisation. The result is a more assured steering feel, particularly when descending or dealing with rougher roads.
The X3 is also designed with modern endurance riding in mind. Clearance for tyres up to 40mm provides plenty of room to tailor the ride to the route and surface, with wider tubeless tyres offering additional grip, comfort and vibration absorption. The geometry remains longer and higher than the DOGMA X, creating a stable riding position suited to spending extended periods in the saddle.
Practicality has also been built into the frame. A dedicated downtube access port provides space for a compact tool bag, allowing essential puncture-repair equipment to travel with the bike without relying on a conventional saddle bag. It's a thoughtful feature for riders who regularly venture beyond the café loop.
The X3's comfort package is completed by Pinarello's adaptive seatpost, which offers 10mm of longitudinal flex. Together with the compliant rear triangle and generous tyre clearance, it is designed to take the harshness out of imperfect surfaces while maintaining the responsive feel expected from a performance road bike.
For the drivetrain, the X3 uses Shimano 105 Di2 2x12-speed electronic shifting, giving riders the convenience and precision of wireless electronic gear changes with a wide-range road setup. A 50/34T compact chainset combined with an 11–34T cassette gives the bike an appropriately broad spread of gears, from efficient high-speed riding through to a useful climbing ratio for steep gradients.
The build is completed with DT Swiss A1800 30 DB Spline wheels, a Jaguar Claw Ultra ALU handlebar and MOST Lynx MY26 saddle. The result is a well-rounded specification that keeps the X3 focused on dependable, high-mileage performance rather than unnecessary complication.
Why we rate the X3 at HYPT Bike Performance
The X3 makes a compelling case for riders who don't want to choose between comfort and performance.
It has the technology to feel fast and responsive when you're pushing hard, but its endurance-focused geometry, adaptive compliance and generous tyre clearance make it equally suited to long days where comfort and control become increasingly important.
Add Shimano 105 Di2, integrated storage and a quality DT Swiss wheelset, and the Pinarello X3 105 Di2 becomes a seriously capable all-round road bike — one that is as enjoyable on a long Sunday ride as it is when the pace increases.
