We have some of the industry's leading technology to deliver an exceptional bike fitting experience, but technology alone doesn't create great results. The most important part of any bike fit is the knowledge, experience, and expertise of the person carrying it out.

Our bike fitting service is led by HYPT owner, Dave Robinson. A lifelong cyclist with more than 16 years of experience in the cycling industry.

"I'm passionate about helping riders get the most from the sport I love. My goal is simple: to help every rider enjoy greater comfort, improved efficiency, and more power on the bike, making every ride feel as natural and effortless as possible.

I've been fortunate to work with and train alongside some of the world's most respected bike fitters, continually developing my skills and learning the latest techniques. It's incredibly rewarding to bring that knowledge back to the HYPT fit studio and use it to help every rider achieve their goals."

By combining world-class fitting technology with years of hands-on experience and a rider-first approach, we deliver bike fits that are tailored to each individual—helping you ride further, faster, and more comfortably.

At HYPT Bike Performance, Durham, we specialise in bike fitting to help you feel stronger, ride more efficiently, and stay injury-free.

Frequently asked questions

Do I Need a Bike Fit?

If you spend any significant amount of time on your bike, a professional bike fit can make a noticeable difference. Whether you're experiencing discomfort, looking to improve performance or simply want to enjoy riding more, a bike fit ensures your position is tailored to your body, flexibility and riding goals.

Many riders assume that aches and pains are just part of cycling, but issues such as knee pain, numb hands, saddle discomfort and lower back pain are often caused by an incorrect riding position. A professional bike fit can help resolve these problems while improving comfort, efficiency and confidence on the bike.

Even if you're not experiencing any discomfort, a bike fit can help you pedal more efficiently, reduce fatigue on longer rides and get the most from your bike.

Who Is a Bike Fit For?

A bike fit isn't just for professional cyclists or racers. It's suitable for anyone who wants to ride more comfortably and efficiently.

We regularly work with:

  • Road cyclists
  • Gravel riders
  • Sportive and endurance cyclists
  • Club riders
  • New cyclists
  • Riders returning after injury
  • Cyclists preparing for events or challenges
  • Anyone experiencing discomfort on the bike

Whether your goal is to ride pain-free, improve performance or simply enjoy your time on the bike more, a professional bike fit can help..

Is a Bike Fit Worth It?

For most cyclists, the answer is yes. A professional bike fit is one of the best investments you can make in your cycling, often delivering greater improvements in comfort and enjoyment than upgrading components or buying a lighter bike.

A properly fitted bike can help reduce common issues such as knee pain, saddle discomfort, numb hands, neck pain and lower back pain, while improving pedalling efficiency, stability and overall confidence on the bike. Many riders also find they can ride further with less fatigue because their position allows them to produce power more efficiently.

At HYPT, every bike fit combines the advanced ID Match fitting system with the experience of an expert bike fitter. Rather than relying solely on measurements or technology, we take the time to understand your goals, riding style, injury history and flexibility before creating a position that's tailored specifically to you.

Whether you're training for an event, recovering from discomfort or simply want to get more enjoyment from every ride, a professional bike fit can help you make the most of the bike you already own.

Many riders spend thousands of pounds upgrading their bike, but the biggest improvement often comes from ensuring the bike fits the rider properly. A bike fit is an investment in your comfort, performance and long-term enjoyment of cycling

How Much Does a Bike Fit Cost?

A comprehensive bike fit covering shoe fit, cleat positioning, 3D motion analysis and saddle pressure mapping is £250

How Long Does a Bike Fit Take?

Most comprehensive bike fits take around 2 to 3 hours, allowing plenty of time to understand your riding history, assess your flexibility and movement, analyse your current position and make any necessary adjustments.

Using the ID Match fitting system, we'll assess factors such as cleat position, saddle pressure, body measurements and dynamic movement before fine-tuning your riding position. You'll leave with a position that's designed specifically for you and your riding goals.

Bike Fit Before Buying a New Bike?

Yes. In fact, one of the best times to have a bike fit is before purchasing a new bike.

A pre-purchase bike fit helps identify the correct frame size and geometry for your body, ensuring you invest in a bike that fits properly from the outset. This can help you avoid buying the wrong size or selecting a bike that doesn't suit your flexibility, proportions or riding style.

If you've already purchased your bike, don't worry—a professional bike fit can still optimise your position and ensure you're getting the very best from it.

Can You Fit Any Brand of Bike?

Yes. Our bike fitting service is completely independent of bike brand or manufacturer.

Whether you ride a road bike, gravel bike, endurance bike, time trial bike or mountain bike, we can optimise your position using the ID Match fitting system. We regularly work with bikes from all major manufacturers and with components from Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo and many other leading brands.

Our focus is always on finding the best position for you, regardless of the name on the frame.
