PURE GRAVEL SPEED. NO COMPROMISES.

The Ridley Astr Rival XPLR is a seriously fast, performance-focused carbon gravel bike. Developed for the new generation of high-speed gravel riding and racing, the Astr brings together an aggressive HM carbon chassis, aerodynamic integration, huge tyre clearance and SRAM's latest Rival XPLR technology to create a bike that's built to attack.

This isn't simply a road bike with bigger tyres. The Astr has been engineered from the ground up for riders who want to race harder, descend faster and carry more speed across rough terrain. Put the power down and the Astr responds immediately, with its stiff carbon chassis and compact 425mm chainstays delivering the sharp, explosive feel you'd expect from a race bike.

The progressive gravel geometry provides the confidence to keep pushing when speeds rise and the surface deteriorates. Fast on the climbs, ruthless across the flats and confidence-inspiring on the descents, this is a gravel bike that rewards riders who like to ride hard.

ENGINEERED TO RACE

Every element of the Astr has been shaped around performance and speed. The low, aggressive front end places the rider in an efficient aerodynamic position, while Ridley's integrated fork-crown diffuser helps manage airflow around the front of the bike. The clean integrated cockpit further reduces frontal clutter and gives the Astr its unmistakably purposeful race-bike profile.

But outright speed means very little without control. The Astr combines responsive handling with a low bottom bracket and high-volume tyre capability, allowing you to commit through fast corners, maintain momentum over broken surfaces and attack technical sections with confidence.

Short 425mm chainstays help retain the immediate acceleration and responsive character of the bike, while the longer overall wheelbase provides the stability needed when you're travelling quickly across loose and unpredictable terrain. The result is a gravel bike that feels sharp when you stamp on the pedals but composed when things get rough.

MASSIVE 52MM TYRE CLEARANCE

Modern gravel bikes are getting faster and modern gravel racing is getting rougher. That's why Ridley has given the Astr exceptional tyre clearance, with space for tyres up to a massive 52mm when using a 1x drivetrain.

This gives you the freedom to tune the Astr to exactly how and where you ride. Choose fast, lower-profile rubber for hard-packed race courses and rapid summer gravel, or take advantage of the huge clearance and fit high-volume tyres when grip, comfort and control become the priority.

The Rival XPLR specification comes equipped with 50mm Schwalbe G-One R tubeless-ready tyres, giving the Astr a superb combination of speed, grip and high-volume control straight out of the box.

SRAM RIVAL XPLR 1X13 – MADE FOR FAST GRAVEL

SRAM Rival XPLR gives the Astr a drivetrain worthy of its racing intentions. The dedicated 1x13-speed gravel drivetrain removes unnecessary complexity while delivering an exceptionally broad spread of usable gears.

A 42-tooth chainring paired with a wide-range 10–46T cassette provides the gearing needed to attack steep gravel climbs without sacrificing the top-end range required when the speed starts climbing across fast roads, tracks and descents.

Wireless electronic shifting delivers crisp, precise gear changes while keeping the cockpit beautifully clean and uncluttered. SRAM hydraulic disc brakes provide powerful, predictable braking and excellent modulation, giving you the confidence to brake later and carry more speed into technical terrain.

Simple, fast and precise – exactly what a modern performance gravel drivetrain should be.

BUILT TO CARRY SPEED

The Astr Rival XPLR comes equipped with DT Swiss G1800 Spline tubeless-ready wheels paired with 50mm Schwalbe G-One R tubeless-ready tyres, creating a package designed to maintain momentum when smooth gravel suddenly turns rough.

The high-volume tyres allow lower operating pressures for increased grip, comfort and control while helping the bike float across broken surfaces that can quickly kill speed on narrower tyres. More grip means greater confidence through loose corners, while the additional volume helps keep the bike composed when you're pushing hard across rough ground.

The result is a bike that encourages you to keep pushing. Accelerate harder. Brake later. Carry more speed.

Whether you're chasing the front group in a gravel race, hammering across fast forestry tracks, attacking your local gravel loop or linking together miles of roads, tracks and trails, the Astr rewards aggressive riding.

THE BOTTOM LINE

The Ridley Astr Rival XPLR isn't designed for simply cruising around gravel roads. It's designed for attacking them. Light, stiff, aggressive and incredibly capable, it combines the responsiveness of a race bike with the tyre clearance, stability and control required for modern gravel riding.

SRAM Rival XPLR 1x13 provides the simplicity, range and precision that fast gravel demands, while the Astr's HM carbon chassis delivers the immediate response and speed that make a genuinely high-performance bike exciting to ride.

If your idea of a gravel ride involves chasing wheels, attacking climbs, ripping descents and arriving home completely empty, the Astr deserves a place at the very top of your shortlist.
